What is a UTM link?
A normal web address with utm_ parameters added, so analytics tools like Google Analytics can tell which campaign, source and medium sent a visitor.
Which UTM parameters are required?
Google Analytics needs utm_source. utm_medium and utm_campaign are strongly recommended; utm_term, utm_content and utm_id are optional.
Should UTM values be lowercase?
Yes. Analytics treats Email and email as different values, so this builder lowercases values and replaces spaces with underscores by default.
Can I add UTMs to an affiliate link?
UTMs on a merchant's page are read by the merchant's analytics, not yours. To track your own clicks on affiliate links, use your network's sub ID instead — try the Affiliate Link Generator.
