Frequently asked questions
What does the affiliate link generator do?
It adds a sub ID (and optional UTM tags) to the affiliate link your network or program gave you, so you can see which page, post or placement drove each click and sale in your network reports.
What is a sub ID?
A label you attach to an affiliate link, such as homepage-banner or youtube-review. Networks report clicks and conversions per sub ID. Each network uses its own parameter name, for example subId1 on Impact, sid on CJ and clickref on Awin.
Does this create a new affiliate account or tracking link?
No. You still need to join the program and use the link it issues. This tool only labels that link. Always confirm the sub ID parameter in your network's publisher help centre.
Will the link still track after I edit it?
Adding a documented sub ID parameter normally keeps tracking intact, but only the network can confirm attribution. Run the result through the Affiliate Link Checker to see where it lands.
Is my link stored?
No. The link is built in your browser and never sent to our servers.
