Recurring commission
A recurring commission is a reward that may be paid repeatedly while a referred customer continues to meet qualifying conditions, often for subscription products. Some programmes pay only for the initial conversion or a limited number of billing periods.
The outcome depends on retention, attribution, commission rules and reversals.
What to check
Whether commission continues for a lifetime or limited period, how renewals are attributed and what happens after cancellations, downgrades or refunds.
Common misconception
“Lifetime commission” is governed by the actual terms, not an unconditional promise of payment forever.
